ARTICLE 19, Global Campaign for Free Expression, today launches a global mapping tool that reveals the widespread use of criminal defamation and other insult laws around the world and unacceptable numbers of people imprisoned there under.

Article 19 has launched a campaign against internet censorship and in support of freedom of expression in Iran.

This website is very interesting and includes a blog for debating censorship. The Iranian government, like many governments in the Middle East, is infamous for its violations of human rights. Activists have constantly found it difficult and dangerous to assemble and call for their rights.

Even though Iran is not an Arab country, still many of the Activists have in several occassions expressed their need for support from fellow Activists in the Arab world.

We call for the respect of human rights regardless of who is being violated.
